Random Locker Searches

Dear Superintendent O'Malley,
According to J.K. Rowling,"We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy." It is not right to invade somebody'sprivacy, but it would be easier for our public schools if the percentage of students bringing illegal paraphernelia to school. The Edison School Board has submitted a recent proposal to allow randow locker searches in public schools. Allowing these searches is not enlisted in our checklists. These searches will only be an invasion of privacy, misplace student belongings, and waste time.
Privacy is very important to everybody. We don't like to reveal our secrets to just anyone and kep hings to ourselves. A female student may bring feminine neccessities to school. A student might feel ashamed of their poor grades and hide them in their locker. If the administration invades their personal belongings, astudent may feel embarrased. We want our students to feel comfortable. However, these students can just carry these neccessities around with them to classes.Wrong. These students will most likely put everything they carry into their locker when they don't need it.
During these searches, some items may get misplaced or stolen. The person who is searching the locker may put items into a different location. A student may remember exactly where they put their homework, and find out that it is put somewhere else. They may not be able to find it and then recieve no credit for the assignment. The person who is searcing the locker may leave something outside the locker near it. They may not realize and just leave it there. Somebody can come along and steal that item. Misplaced and stolen items will become a problem for the school and they will be the ones paying for the items. It will decrease the school's popularity and attract negative attention. However, a student can be more organized so they wouldn't have to dislocate everything. Wrong. The searcher will most likely locate everything to a new spot.
Wasting time is not the correct answer. The adminstration could be doing something else that would bring positive attention to the school and would benefit the school in some way. They could go to workshops or bring more supplies for the school. Going through every single locker would take up so much time that it would decrease school popularity. However, the staff can split up the jobs. Wrong. This would only retard the process with less staff members.
It is clearly evident that these locker searches will bring many negative effects than positive. Nobody wants their secrets revealed and have their items misplaced or even stolen. The schools want the adminstration to work harder, not retard the process. It is difficult to choose between right and easy, but this time, we just need to choose right and complete the task.
                                                                                                                      Sincerely,
                                                                                                                 Parthi Dasondi
