Christmas Morning..........disaster or miracle?

You all probably know very well about Christmas. Big fat bearded guy, 7 oh so magical reindeer, and the majestic snow.....well it's just slushy mush, yada yada yada. For me, my first Christmas morning was totally different. At that time I was super duper scared of Santa Clause! So, here it goes. I woke up extremely early. My eyes hurt from the sunlight pouring into my room. Then, I realized it was Christmas. My brother woke up and looked up at me with his big, googly eyes. I laughed. My brother and I rushed downstairs. Before I reached the bottom of the stairs, I grabbed my baseball bat. Now, here comes the part where I am afraid of Santa. I cautiously walk down the stairs. Then, with a rush of adrenaline, I scream at the top of my very stretched out lungs, " Im gonna get you fatty in a red suit! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Hai-ya!!! My voice suddenly died down, because SANTA WASN'T THERE!!!! But, I did see the presents. The next thing I knew was that I was tearing the cheap wrapping paper off,[and trust me that thing came off easily].I then ran upstairs. I said " mommy look what Santa gave me!". My mom would only groan and tell me to go back to sleep. Even now, I still check for Santa before I open my presents!!!

  1. Good topic, Parthi. I like that your natural voice comes out in your writing. However, avoide talking to the reader; for example, don't say things such as "So here it goes," or "Now, here comes the part where I am afraid of Santa." The reader will know after he reads what is going on--don't tell the reader, show him. Overall, this is a great topic, keep expanding upon it!
